At our Grand Union Village nursery, children thrive in our unique canal-side community just a short walk from the Grand Union Canal towpath. Our peaceful, modern development offers a calm, green environment for children to grow and explore. Our Ofsted-registered waterside nursery welcomes children from 6 months to 5 years.
This exceptional setting, combined with our highly organised approach to an enhanced EYFS with Montessori principles, attracts families from Yeading, Greenford, and as far as Gerrards Cross. They choose us for the carefully planned developmental activities that turn each day into an adventure and for the expertise of our team, who ensure every child gains vital skills for school and life.

Our purpose-built nursery takes advantage of its secure outdoor learning spaces to create an unparalleled learning experience. Our regular adventures along the Grand Union Canal towpath become real-world science lessons where children see the trees change season, count the ducks, and discuss how boats float.
This direct connection to the peaceful, natural environment helps children develop remarkable focus, something parents and teachers consistently notice.
Hear what our parents have to say about us
What truly sets us apart is our hybrid approach to learning. We call it "early education", a child-led Montessori approach with the structure of the Early Years Foundational Framework.
It requires attention from our thoughtfully selected team of Early Years Educators and managers to work, and the results are noticeable.
Within two weeks of joining, your child's dedicated key person will have explored all seven areas of development through play and created a personal learning pathway specific to them. Parents get daily updates along the way.
Your child plans weekly, creating individualised activities within our 52-week curriculum. During morning work cycles, children aren't just playing—they're engaged in carefully selected activities matched to their developmental needs.
This means a toddler fascinated by boats might count canal barges for maths, practice boat vocabulary for literacy, and develop coordination through water play activities. Your child's interests drive comprehensive development. Learn more about our personalised learning approach.
Children who attend Grand Union Village develop intense concentration and a natural curiosity about the world around them. By the time they leave for Reception, most are reading independently. Beyond academics, they develop the learning behaviours that matter: they organise their thinking, persist through challenges, and help others without being asked.
We track each child's progress carefully, and our regular updates via our parent app show you precisely what your child has mastered. You always know what their day entails. It's a true partnership.
Our team at Grand Union Village are experts at using their unique local environment to spark curiosity. With many staff here since we opened, they know the families and have refined their practice to make the most of our waterfront location.
Our SENCO ensures every child gets what they need to flourish, adapting activities so no child is left behind. The peaceful environment particularly benefits children who need calm spaces to thrive.
Snowflakes is led by the family that founded it, a partnership now spanning two generations. This unique blend of 22 years' experience and a modern educational vision ensures consistent excellence and a deep, personal commitment to every family.

We understand choosing the right partner for your child's first steps in the big world is a big decision. Here are some questions that our parents frequently ask. We encourage you to give us a call if you have any other questions for us!
Located at 8 Higham Mews, Northolt, UB5 6FP, our nursery is next to King George's Field recreation ground inside Grand Union Village. We're well-served by local buses, including the 696, E6, E7, E9, 120 and 282 routes. The residential location offers parking for drop-off outside the nursery.
Our purpose-built Grand Union Village facility accommodates up to 76 children across bright, spacious rooms, each with direct access to our secure outdoor areas. The modern building features state-of-the-art security systems and was specifically designed for early years education, creating an ideal learning environment.
Our location next to King George's Field provides wonderful opportunities for nature exploration and sports activities. We're close to Northala Fields for special outings, local libraries for story sessions, and have easy access to shops and cafes on Mandeville Road for community connections.
Children from our nursery typically transition to schools including Gifford Primary, Wood End Academy, St Raphael's Catholic Primary, Lady Margaret Road and Horsenden Primary. Our strong school readiness program and relationships with local schools ensure children are confident and prepared for their next educational journey.
Our larger Northolt facility allows us to provide specialised rooms for each developmental stage: a peaceful baby room for 6 months to roughly 2.5 years (depending on the child), our Green Room and Blue Room are both for toddlers and pre-schoolers preparing for school transition.
Our branch at Higham Mews operates from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We're open 50 weeks annually, providing consistent care for families in Northolt, Greenford, Yeading and surrounding areas.
We proudly accept all forms of government funding, including the 15 & 30-hour schemes for eligible families.
